They use it on GovTeen.
(I'm assuming this would be the same one)

It's not done on VT however, because in most cases it would require use to allow people over 19 to join, and we would have to handle a bunch of legal stuff [me thinks].
Here (http://forums.govteen.com/images/faces/) is a list of all GovTeen faces, including VT ones.

That file listing does not include Virtual Teen's Global Moderator, Counselor, (blue tint) Administrator, or Retired Administrator faces. I can't remember if Francis made a separate face for his "Mediator" position.
Anyway, since Virtual Teen doesn't have any certified doctors, we don't use the Doc face.

I stand corrected. :P
I forgot those were personalized for VT.

Now this is hypothetical, but what if someone under the age of 19 went to medical college, earned their degree, and became a doctor. Since they would be allowed on because they joined before their 20's, and they had proof that they were a certified doctor, would we ever allow them have a doc face?

Possibly, but that would be highly unlikely, and it would require a whole bunch of legal work (me thinks), like faxing medical degrees, license, etc. and both parties signing a bunch of stuff.
Unless we just took his/her word, which would be kind of dumb. :P

We should use that.. it would just help new people to understand who will probably have the best answers.

That's not a bad idea. Kind of like mentors.
As or the doctor face, I'm sure if we ever have certified M.D. aboard, the face might pop up.

The only problem is, if we give one person a special face that might make everyone else feel their advice isn't as worthy.

Bobby, as the one closest to being a 'Real' doctor, I'm very sensitive to the discrepancy btw'n advice given based on knowledge and training (and experience) as opposed to well intentioned but clearly 'peer' based opinion, as well as the reaction of the members (and staff) to both. However, if the point of the site is to provide the most accurate info and 'advice' possible, to deny the members access to trained professionals is not only a real shortcoming, but borders on the selfish. Especially if the reason competent professionals are being denied is basically b/c they know more and would be (rightly) seen as more credible.
In any social order, there's a division of responsibility, and that order should (under ideal circumstances) be determined by competence and credibility, not what necessarily is more self serving (aka cronyism). There's room in any healthy society for people with varying degrees of knowledge and experience and competence, and their worth to that culture is based on more on their unique contribution to everyone, not just the few.
I like the idea of positions being available to those with actual credentials, ability or training or knowledge. I think it mirrors the best of society, something we should strive for here.

I don't like to speak for the admins (actually I do), but if you send them your transcripts and documents I'm sure they'd love to give you the doctor's face.

Bobby, that's very gracious of you, but you have to consider the obvious fact that if lesser goods aren't acknowldged, then greater ones won't, either.

Do we need a doctor here?
I think the counselors are enough, it has worked so far. i don't think Docs are necessary. Besides, which doctors would do their job for free? It is a waste of a career, and whatever it is they would do here, they could do it in real like for money. I'm just thinking capitalistically here.

:)This is incorrect. Don't ever speak on behalf of the administration.

I'm not in favor of any more faces than there are already.
Why did we cut back and make mod faces only appear on forums we mod? Because we were being overrun by 'people of power' who actually didn't have power where the forums said they did.
The staff:regular member ratio should stay the same always. If there are more staff than members, we need to cut back, like we did with the face issue.
