Have you ever 'skipped' classes? What do you think about it?

I used to not go to school at all, quite often. My attendance in the last year was about 75%, I skipped a few weeks.
And looking back I don't care at all, I still got good enough grades.

My school cracks down on ditching classes... hard. it's an ISS the first time.
So, i don't.

Well lets see.. My attendance since grade 1 has been UNDER 50% every year..
I don't think much of it.. It really didn't have any difference untill higher grades.. I used to be an honor student with like 30-40 % attendance some year..
Later when a few new subjects came up, which I wasn't good at ( 3rd language, algebra ) my grades started falling.. And simply the fact that I couldn't do something without any effort sort of made me slack even more.. Though eventually I wised up so to speak.. OFC my attendance still sucks! But I try a bit now.. And my grades are ok again
Skipping isn't a good idea.. If you can go there every day then do it! The days I used to go to school, I'd do my homework in the damn building doing breaks and life was just more smooth and no teacher or classmate wondered where the hell I was ;P

In highschool, I skipped some of the assemblies (stuff where you go in the gym, hear babble about whatever), and sometimes some classes if I was really neck-high in work. In university, 1st year I didn't skip a lot, 2nd year (where I am now), this week I skipped a lecture on human anatomy and physiology (meant for future med. students, very detailed course) and the tutorial, both of which have online notes anyway, as I had a test on thursday for abnormal psychology that lasted 3 hours.
In highschool, skipping tends to result in penalties and missing the lessons. Getting notes from someone else can be decent, however, they may not write down everything if they already know it. In univeristy, most courses that I've done had notes online (except for calculus, 1st year chemistry and 2nd year organic chemistry).
I try to prioritize; if there's a lecture that has the notes online versus studying for an upcoming large test, I may skip the lecture and study, depending on how much I've studied already.

I haven't ever ditched class really.
I have stayed home even when I wasn't sick. My mom lets me do that once in a while. One day we went shopping, and got lunch. A whole mother daughter day. One time I went Christmas shopping. Once was a day before a vacation and we weren't doing ANYTHING in any classes, so going was pointless.
I haven't ever been in school, but just not gone to class.

The part in bold is just.. well you contradicting yourself.
The part in underline, well, just makes no sense and seems quite redundant.
I'm not intending to attack you, however, it just is quite contradicting and redundant, and it's difficult to understand what your answer is meant to be.

When I think of ditching class I think of....like going to the gym or something. Or getting in their car and leaving. Without permission from parents.
I consider my days of not going to school are.....mental health days. Give myself a rest.
Does that clear it up at all? I can try and explain differently if needed.

Well, no. You've given the definitions to your terms but they're still contradicting =/

Mm I agree with Autumn.
I've never ditched class, as in not gone w/o my parents knowing, but I've stayed home for no reason, with my parents knowing.
And I rarely do that anymore... Making up school is too hard these days =/

If I didn't want to go, I just didn't go.
No one ever really gave a shit one way or the other.

I never unexcused skip, but my mom is more than willing to call me in "sick" or "with an appointment" or "out of town" whenever I don't want to really. There is no reason for me to go and waste my time in class when I can get straight A's without attending class. Boring

As long as I know the material, there's nothing wrong with missing class. However, I have never missed class because I didn't want to go. It's my responsibility, and the least I can do for my parents.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to get at....I dunno how to explain myself though.
