It's meant to hurt a bit, but just don't overdo it. If you're gonna work out again today, lower the weights a bit and don't push yourself that hard. Also remember to do a decent warm up, and a warm down (to avoid your muscles killing the next day)

Hey Lou, you should not work out two days in a row, your muscles need recovery. you could work out a different part of your body though, as long as its not the same muscles you are good.

just remember, when u work out, the next day your muscles recover and THAT is what makes them stronger, if you over work them, your muscles tear and that makes it weaker.

make sure to stretch properly and not damage anything!

Yes, it would be alright to work out today again. However, it would NOT be smart to work yourself to the max again. Take it light. It's never really good to take it to the max (every once in a while, after you've been working out consistently for a while it is alright).

And like Paula said, it would probably be best to work different areas of the body. Like when I go to the YMCA one day we do arms, another shoulders, another we bench, and so on.

If it hurts then its generally not a good idea.

However if you don't do any kind of weight lifting or stuff like that, it is ok. Also don't push yourself to the absolute max.

If you push yourself too hard day by day you eventually reach a ''block'' so to speak and your body wont really evolve anymore.

Non consequtive day work outs are good. If you really want to workout every day do the ''heavier stuff'' on non consequtive days and simply run, swim stuff like that on the other days.

If it hurts, I don't think it's a good idea.
Most serious weight lifters/work outers have a schedule right?
They never work out two days in a row, because (especially during puberty) it harms the muscles.
After they tear, they don't have enough time to build up again before you tear what little has built up. If you do this often, I don't think you'll see much muscle growth, and you will probably be in constant muscle pain, since all you'd be doing is ripping the muscles, letting it grow back a little, then ripping that again.

serious bodybuilders do work out more then 1 day in a row, just they usually work different parts. Like shoulders, then bicep/tricep, then quads, then repeat etc..

Ah, quite right.
I meant they don't work out the same things (especially when they are sore) twice in a row.

Sometimes, it helps if one day you work with upper-body stuff [like arms, etc.] and the next day lower-body stuff [legs, etc.]. This helps to make you stronger over all instead of just one area. I hope that helps...

*Sounds like someone has a new chica in their life!*

Lou, if you're not used to working out these muscles, then they're going to hurt for a while. Pain is the body's way of telling you it's damaged. Sounds like you might have overdone it a bit. A good woman will make you do that. LOL!

I'd skip a day or two if I were you, let them heal. If you work out sooner, then all you do is cause damage and more pain. She'll think you're a geezer or a weakling, it won't make you buff any sooner.

The fastest way to muscle development is a slow, consistent workout that isn't strenous.

tell her I said she's a veeeeery lucky girl.

Yes, creating a constant schedule would be fine. However, you need to not push yourself that hard. You dont want to put too much stress on yourself

Dude i know exactly how u feel, happened to me last week - I worked out so much I was aching for 2 days after.

Don't work out again until you no longer hurt or just work different areas of the body. Don't over do a work out, take it slow as muscles grow after exerise and when they're not working.
