But we're worried about the risks such as STD's, etc. Can someone please explain the safest possible way to do this and some more information about STDs related to gay sexual acts. I am worried I might contract something. We're both very clean hygienic wise but I don't want to take any risks.

Also I was just wondering, why is AIDs more common amongst gay couples that practice anal sex than straight couples that practice anal sex?

Article on how to be safe during anal sex and the STD risk (http://www.health.com/health/condition-article/0,,20188708,00.html)

Its more common because frankly, gay couple do it more and more likely to. I mean, if straight couples have another way to have sex, they'd do that rather than the other. So its just out of frequency (in my eyes).

But some will tell you that gay people have more std's and all this bull crap and for some reason everyone seems to think if someones gay, they are the end all be all slut of the day.

Ok, here are some answers for you.

You can only catch STI's from an infected person. If you and your friend are NOT active (both virgins) then you can't get an STI (there are exceptions, like blood transfusions, but that's rare). If either you or your partner has had unprotected sex, then there's the risk, so you must both use a condom.

AIDS is more prevalent in the male gay community b/c of two reasons. The first is that gay men have the most number of sexual partners, so they are most likely mathematically to encounter someone with an STI.

The second reason is that AIDS is transmitted thru the exchange of bodily fluids. We know that guys ejaculate, which is a body fluid that would have the AIDS virus in an infected person.

Anal sex is a practice using 2 parts not desiged to work that way. There'a a lot of friction with intercourse, and the delicate tissues of the anus and rectum (lower colon) tear easily. The rips and tears bleed, providing an entrance for the AIDS virus in the semen of infected men to enter the bloodstream of the receipient.

If you add the number of partners many gay men have + the increased chance of bodily fluids mixing, you can best understand why gay anal sex is the riskiest type of sexual activity and why gay men are at highest risk for contracting AIDS.

Interestingly (and quite disturbingly), there was a dramatic decrease in gay-related transmission after the word got out. However, as the next generation of homosexuals has come of age, they seem to have not gotten (or appreciated) the risks, resulting in a new rise of gay-related new AIDS cases.

Whatever you do, make sure you know your partner, and always rubber up.

aslong as you havnt had any sexual contact with an infected person and you use a condom with your friend you should be fine. But please be careful

Well, if you use a condem then you most likely won't get an STD (only is it's latex or polyester). But, most couples only use condems to prevent birth, so because a guy can't get pregnant people usually don't use condems during gay sex. Some people do though. I just suggest getting a condem to be on the safe side. Some babies get STD's because their mother had one, so just being a virgin doesn't guarantee you dont have one, just means you have a rare chance to have one. (STD transfered from mother to baby because of breast milk and when the baby is being born, the protective sack around it breaks thus rendering the baby protectionless against any diseases.

You won't like this answer, but the safest way to not contract STD's would be to not have anal sex in the first place or any sex for that matter. But if you are so inclined to do so then make sure your friend doesn't have any STD's and find out about his previous sexual activity along with wearing a condom. Provided that you want to go through with this then those are you safest bets on not contracting any STD's. Good luck...

Well, get tested, obviously. If either of you are tested positive, ask the doctor how to prevent it.

Are you saying getting an STD is better than letting your parents know?

there are things one just cant talk to our parents about.
STDs is one of them.

Just do lots of research before you do anything.
and ALWAYS ALWAYS use a condom, better safe than sorry.

In a great many places one does not require parental consent to be tested for STIs.

OP: If you're both virgins, unprotected sex is almost certain to not result in any infection, because a person must (generally) have sex to get an STI - there being obvious exceptions like tainted blood transfusions. That said, it is obviously still safer to use a condom unless you know for a fact (i.e. have seen test results) that you and your friend are both clean.

You need to both be very open and honest with each other about your sexual history. I'm guessing you probably haven't done anything like this before from the nature of your question. If the same is true for the other guy then there's very little risk. Two virgins having sex, whatever the nature of that sex, are just not going to give each other STIs. They really can't be caught from toilet seats!

On your wider question, the main reason that AIDS is more common amongst gays is because a lot a gay guys go in for one night stands rather than long term relationships. The more sexual partners the higher the risk, its as simple as that.

So take all the usual precautions, both for cleanliness and comfort ensure that you use condoms and plenty of lube. If the bottom guy is not used to it take it very gently, do some fingering and stuff first, it should feel fantastic but you need to go slowly.

Ok Adam, Franz Duck, if you have to talk about it more PM each other, or Adam if you'd like, you can make your own thread concerning how to get a test done w/o parents.
So everyone on topic please.
