I'm 14 and I hear alot of people on the forums having some type of sexual intercourse or rather when there younge. Personally myself I whouldn't want to have sex with anyone I wasn't in love with or really really like. I also dont want to be a father or obtain an STD. So I was wondering when is the right time for me to have sex? I was thinking 16 or later is 16 too early?

First, a lot of what you hear about the sexual activity of teens is a gross exaggeration. According to the lastest stats, teens nowadays are delaying sexual activity of all kinds, much more so than in generations past. So, a lot of what you hear is either fantasy or outright lying, esp. at 14.
I think the decision to have sex is based not so much on age, as it is emotional maturity and readiness to appreciate and understand the emotional committment that goes along with it. The age that occurs depends on the relationship itself, as well as the maturity and experience of the people involved, so it's hard to come up with a pat answer for 'What age?'.
However, you're on the right track if you recognize that sex isn't just a form of entertainment, and requires something more emotional to be fully appreciated. When you're there, you'll know it, it will feel right.

It will be best to wait till atleast 16 as that is the legal age and if you feel emotionally ready and your in a relationship, maybe that is a good time to take it further
