Thank goodness the poor thing was alive. I can't believe a parent would do this when hospitals and most police/fire stations will let you drop off the baby with no questions asked. They actually encourage it, versus leaving the baby somewhere like this. Still, though, I hope the mother is alright. She obviously didn't have the baby in a proper location, so things like blood loss and even infection could be a real problem,pretty tragic way to go.

I don't understand you can go through smething like having a baby and then just LEAVE it there out in the cold... That makes me sad. At least bring it somewhere where it will be safe....

I know. At least in the case of the abortion, the mother is responsible enough to not leave the baby to die like that. Death from exposure is a very nasty process. Can be quite painful, too. Can't freeze to death without first feeling like your body is on fire. Can't die of heat without very painful muscle cramps. Can't die of starvation or thirst without a crapload of discomfort as well. Even if the kid survives, it can do lasting damage. I can't say I support abortion in all circumstances, but it definitely beats this.

I think it's stupid that they don't give the baby treatment without the mom. I'm sure they want money from the mom but if they had any feelings for the baby they would treat her. Tax payers pay for jail food but they cant use that money for useful purposes like helping an innocent baby.

Omg that is so terrible but atleast the baby should be ok. If the kids that found her stay in touch they'll hve one heck of a story to tell her when's sea older

Read the article. They are treating the baby. The mother is the one they are worried about not recieving proper treatment for blood loss etc.

They don't know that she has experienced huge blood loss for certain, but it is a possibility.
