I've heard that shaving your beard makes it grow back thicker, is this true?

It is a myth that shaving makes your hair grow back any thicker or faster. The only explanation for why tat would happen is simply because your hair growth is speeding up through puberty anyway. So no, it won't get thicker if you shave.

I wholeheartedly agree with the post above, and it is a myth that shaving makes hair grow back faster. It is your androgen sensitive hair follicles which come online during puberty which causes the hair to grow fast and thick, and shaving merely exposes more of your hair. Simply put, shaving is a fact of life for most guys, and there is little you can do to prevent hair growth.

NO! Shaving doesn't make your beard grow any faster or become thicker. Your hair grows at the same rate. It may seem that it is getting thicker but actually you are still maturing and you will get more hair on your entire body well into your 20's.

One bad thing to remember here too that once you get into middle age you will start growing hair in you ears and nose. Even though the hair is present it starts to grows in these places once you are finished with puberty and well into adulthood.

well, shaving does seem to make it grow back thicker because originally, the hair is a lil pointed. But when you shave, and it grows back, its top is like a small surface(if you take a look closely) so it makes you think it's thicker but it actually is not

Yes shaving I think does make your hair grow back thicker and faster. It's a way your body keeps you warm so when there's nothing there it will grow back
