2004 was mostly about Hip Hop / Rnb unfortunately
2005 HipHop RnB again but Rock and it's children (punk pop, indie, grunge etc.) is taking over again thank god.
What's 2006 gonna be about?

Yeah Bri Panic! at he disco (sounds like fall out boy) are just hitting the big time.
Also Aiden (sounds like MCR) are gonna get very big very soon.
I think Within Temptation (sounds like Nightwish) are gonna get big soon.
Still Remains (sounds like Killswitch Engage) are gonna make it big, I saw them on the roadrage tour a while ago and they were really good.

I dont believe any year is dominated by a particular genre, because it does depend on what you listen to and how you listen to it.

2006 will definitaly include alot of punk rock. and then the rave/techno/electronica music will come in. NUMA NUMA KICKS ASS, but they're Romanian so the actual name of the song is Dragostea Din Tei w/e that means

The recent surdge of Musicals on the market might make an impact....modern music is going the way of the gutter with bands being less and less good.

I say you might see more expirimental and indie music as artists will finally go "oh crap...we can't be lazy anymore"
