I am starting to get slightly uncomfortable with the posts by girls in the boys puberty section. Can girls be banned from accessing it, and boys banned from the girls section? It would make me a bit more comfortable.

No, that cant and wont happen.
Girls need to ask boy questions and boys need to ask girl questions.
And its especially not going to happen for you.

That is what general puberty is for.

But, there are many, many more boys on this site than girls, and thus sometimes the best answers are given by guys.(The girl population is growing though.)

Really, just don't look at the gender. It doesn't matter that much.

Okay,

there is a rule that if you indicate that you want boys only, only boys can post. Same with the girl in the girls forum. In General Puberty, its a toss up.

However if you are feeling uncomfortable with your own threads, just indicate that you want boys only.
Otherwise, the girls provide wonderful insight and you should just take their advice instead of becoming "uncomfortable"

If you are uncomfortable from girl posts you are free to put in your thread title 'boys only.'

I can understand that it can make you uncomfortable which is why if you specify 'boys only' in the thread title, and a girl posts, it will be removed when a moderator sees it.

Does that work for you?

It's not a question of whether or not you can help, it's the point that he doesn't feel comfortable having girls answer.
We all need to respect each others wishes regardless of whether we think we can help or not- also just because it doesn't bother you, it doesn't mean it doesn't bother anyone.

As for the OP, Ant's suggestion is best. Just add 'Boys Only Please' somewhere in the post or title and girls posts will either be removed or the user reprimanded (probably both).
However, it's impossible to know for sure who's a boy and who's a girl, especially since gender isn't required info to join.

Guys post in girls puberty more than girls do...

I wouldn't be against this personally, but quite a few staff members have said no.

I guess saying "boys only" is the only thing you can do

Yes, Ant's suggestion is the best thing to do. Some people are fine with it, me included, but since you don't like it. Just add 'boys only'.

But we can't stop girls posting in the boys puberty area full stop. A lot of girls give just as good advice as boys do.

We can just fix the whole thing by getting rid of puberty. ;-)

I agree really with everyone else here the thing is though, doesn't the description under Puberty For Boys somewhere say in bold BOYS ONLY? Might want to change that...

Change it why? It applies to making threads. Guys can't make threads in girls puberty and vice versa.

And although that may not be clear, its to act like a deterrent to limit the opposite sex as much as possible.

That means that boys only can start threads in there. Everyone should read the rules of Puberty 101.

Boys shouldn't ask questions in girls puberty, however they can answer questions unless the OP stated Girls only or something in the title.

Anyone can ask and answer questions in general puberty.

If you see them, you can report them and they will be moved. The report button is a great little thing.

I wouldn't see this happening. Banning members from one section because of their gender is wrong. If it does make you uncomfortable seeing girls reply to boy puberty threads, then that's your problem. If you make a thread and don't want girls answering, just put "guys only" or "boys only" as Ant said. Girls are just as helpful, but I can see why you would be uncomfortable with it.
