I saw a post about it and now i'm wondering what is it, or is it just there for nothing?

It is, in truth, just some hair. We have hair left over from evolution and change, and just like chest hair it doesn't really serve much of a purpose. It's just one of those things.

It's the hair that goes from around your belly button down to your pubic area.

Or in other words the hair that goes from your pubic area to your belly button...and sometimes higher

All body hair sserves 2 functions: First (the obvious) is insulation, although it'f not really that much to provide much of anything, really, and you'd think that young 'uns probably need more b/c of their youth and vulnerability, when we know they have less.
So, the REAL reason we have hair all over after puberty is that it serves as a sign of sexual maturity, it's like the peacock's plume, announcing your 'arrival' and ability to reproduce.

i got this from http://www.urbandictionary.com/ a path of hair that starts at the belly button and end somewhere in the pubic region.

Sam made THREE typos in one sentence? His weakness is exposed: grammar.
The "happy trail" is a line of hair running from your genital area to your belly button generally. It varies slightly from person to person.
