Mexican Reporter Caught in Crossfire

REYNOSA - Miguel Turriza says his life has been changed forever. He was reporting from the bridge when gun shots rang out. He was there as the shooting intensified between police and the heavily armed drug cartel members.

The hail of bullets forced him to seek protection from the bridge's concrete barriers.

Reporting on the streets of Mexico isn't a job; it's a way of life between the dangerous stories and death threats.

For reporters, the streets of Mexico have become more of a war zone.

Turriza admits it was risky to stay on the bridge during the shooting, but he says he's grateful to be alive.

International Bridge Re-Opened

BROWNSVILLE – The Gateway International Bridge has re-opened.

The Cameron County sheriff has confirmed shots were fired in Matamoros. There’s no word if anyone’s been hurt.

Traffic isn’t being allowed in or out from Mexico.
