So I guess I'll start out by saying Im 14, and 5 inches hard, to give you an idea of me. I posted a little while back and a lump like thing on my penis, but after showing it to my parents *while placid, as it got bigger when hard*, and noticing that when hard I noticed it trailed further down my penis, I assumed it was a vein, as did my parents.

Well, I've noticed it for awhile, but today I began to wonder. There is a tiny black line that runs straight around my penis, I guess an inch-2 from the start of the head, where what I assume to be a vein ends. Now, I dont know if it is by pure coinceadense that the line is there or not, but above it the skin of my penis is thicker, and I can not see any veins under it, like normal skin on your body, it also gets kind of red when I masturbate *in the shower at least, never payed attention outside* but under the line, the skin is what I would describe as stretched out looking, and I can see a lot of veins. Now, is this something to fret over, or is it as simple as it being my circumcision scar? If you need more information please tell me.

The line is the circ scar, no big deal. There are a lot of little veins and arteries in the penis, remember that erection is a blood and vascular event, so there needs to be a network of a lot of blood carrying veins and such, which look like lines (red, green, or blue), all normal.

During the many exams you had as a baby and child, the doc inevitably looked carefully at your penis, and if there was something abnormal, he would have told your folks.

Absolutely, it is normal for you to have veins on your penis. There are a large number of veins surrounding the penis and an especially large vein on the top of the penis called the dorsal vein of the penis.

Sounds like the circ line to me.

The skin just above it has more pigment in it, so it naturally looks a bit redder/browner. And, when excited, it fills with blood and becomes moreso, which is probably what you're noticing. Likewise, there are a couple of rather prominent veins in the penis, which seem to stop at the circ line.

As a general FYI, babies are given pretty thorough exams at birth (including the penis), so if there was something 'wrong' the doc would have noticed and told your folks, who would have told you when you asked.
