My sister keeps asking me if I'm nervous, and I'm not. I am honestly more nervous about phone calls than face-to-face meetings. The last real job that I worked started in 2005 and ended in 2007, so it's been a while. Any money that I get otherwise is dirty money... haha. I'm good at dealing with people face-to-face, so as long as I don't become a clutz and trip over a chair, I should be good.

Good luck! Even if you do trip over a chair I'm sure they will still like you! :)

I emailed her a thank you letter - brief, yet professional and clear.
The position pays $8.00/hr. I'd be getting from 20-30 hours a week. It's seasonal, so I wouldn't start until April 1st, but she wants me to call her on Friday if she hasn't called me by 5pm on Thursday. I'd be working concessions on a cruise steamboat, but I'd also be trained to give tours of different landmarks on the river during a boat tour, and I'd be trained to follow emergency procedures and hand out life jackets. I'd also be dispatched to work in the gift shop and anywhere else that I could help, minus the bar because of my age - the only thing I'd be allowed to there would be to stock cups and other non-alcoholic items. The fact that I have experience working with the public and in a team setting puts me ahead, and she told me that out of all of the applicants (there are five positions available,) I am the only one who called to follow up on my application.
I'll probably be taking temporary work at a thrift store either way until April - I am looking to start my first college term at the end of next month.
I think I'm starting to get it together, and it feels good.

:)
It's going to be a good job, in all honesty. I'll get to be on the boat during Thunder (the biggest fireworks show in town every April,) the local steamboat race, and a bunch of other awesome events, not to mention two other fireworks shows. (The fireworks are always launched off of the bridge, and, of course, the steamboat is on the river, so it'll be an amazing view.)
