To molest someone is to sexually abuse any person, be them young, old, small, tall, heavy, or light.
Child molestation is the same thing, except directed at children.

And yes, it is a horrible experience.

As Shattered said, it is when any person touches any other person sexually in an unwanted and inappropriate manner.

To say that you would dislike the experience is a huge understatement.

Trust when I say that "huge" should be in the biggest, boldest, most exotically colored font that VT offers. Not to mentioned stressed to the fullest.
Child molestation is one of the sickest and saddest crimes out there.

One thing to add: Molestation is any unwanted sexual contact, but it usually refers to contact btw'n people of differing levels of social power: Children v. adults, handicapped v. non handicapped, adult v. senior. It's the lack of consent that makes it so bad, which is heightened by the power differences.

Sadly, unwanted sexual contact btw'n people of differeing levels of power is all too common: Approx 1:5 girls and 1:8 boys report such occurrences. It is always very traumatic, but firtunately, there's very good treatment in therapy for it.

I don't know if this really goes along with anything, but is there a name for when a child is abused by another child?
Like if you are 7 and the other kid is 9, is there a name for that?

It's deemed to be molestation. The age of those involved doesn't affect that.

austinc... i wanna commend u on going to counselling and going to help.

you should be an example for all of those people that have been through something this traumatic and have yet to seek help.

also, on a more general note. molestation is one of the worst crimes that a person can commit because there is almost never any doubt about a person's intent. whether or not it's consensual is always up for debate, but the intent of the perpetrator is never questioned unlike say in a homicide. No one ever molests someone in "self-defence" or by "accident." It's the most deliberate criminal offense on Earth and there really is no justification for sexual abuse of any kind on any level. In my book sexual abuse (including molestation) in many ways out-rank murder on the "horrible evil acts by humans" scale.
