so im "kinda" lazy but i really want to work out, im 14 and im kind of embarassed of working out while my family is on home, but i do have some days when im alone and i wish to work out (my abs mostly) but i dont know a good routine that may not hurt me and stuff. Work out is mainly to look "good" but i dont have a good physical ...how do i put it...lets say i cant run for like 5 mins without having to catch my breath, so i do wish to be able to last longer but to look good too, not too much, just slightly different, i want my abs to be kind of "defined" but be stronger also, and be able to run for longer, may be useful sometime haha. I might be asking for too much but im mainly asking for tips so almost anything is useful to me, if you guys can post links to good pages that might help feel free to do so.
thanks to all in advance.
P.S. i dont really have much money and im embarrassed of askin my dad or bro to take me to a gym hhaha

Simple. Do situps and push ups if u can, if you can't try to work your arms buy lifting weights if you have any. get on your bike and go for a 30 min ride.
Don't be embarrased when working out, at least your moving and getting exercise. you said you can't run for no longer than 5 mins, thats fine do 5 mins take a rest and start running again, take a few sips of water when resting, keep doin it and you will be able to last longer.
BTW, please don't bump posts - be patient somebody will answer in time

Yes, as said above just do sit-ups and push-ups. As for the ruynning, go for as long as you can, then take a break. Try pacing yourself as well. I'm not sure if you do that while running or not.
A good way to practice running is to sprint really quick, stop when you're out of breath, sprint some more, and yeah that's what I do and it's really increased my mile time. From like 10 min to 7 min. And be healthy! Try not to get sick as much as possible. When I was sick, I did an 8 min mile when my average now is 7 min.

well...if ur embaressed about working out in front of ur parents then do sit ups and pushups and pull ups at night...when they are all sleeping...and get up early and do a run...after you think you cant do anything anymore...keep doing it for at least 5 more minutes....if you push urself past the max then you will get better and improve....and if ur working out to define ur muslces...u might as well work them to become stronger...you might as well

If you wish, you could join a gym and use the machines or weights there (I suggest machines first). Personal trainers cost extra but you don't need to get one if you don't want.
If you want to work out at home, then to build up your endurance and stamina, try to some cardio activities, such as jogging/running outside, bicycling, etc... . For the abs, you can do basic sit-ups, perhaps with weights later. You could do exercises whereby you lie down (on back or front, usually back) and lift your legs off the ground only a bit and hold them there. Eventually, you can put on some weights on the legs. Another exercise is to to hold your upper body on some sturdy thing and try to lift your legs up.
For the rest of your body, once again, either hit a gym, buy a basic weight set (don't need something fancy, basic dumbells or chest press, etc...). Push-ups work great, not only the basic ones but ones where you put your arms out wide and do a push up, put your legs up on something to make them elevated then do the push-up, etc... . A basic dumb bell set, running/jogging/bicycling/swimming/etc... along with sit-ups and push-ups will put you in shape not only for your abs but your entire body.

mexa, there's no reason to be embarrased about asking to go to a gym. At your age, it would be a good idea to go to one. I would just speak to your parents.

Try to watch the 300 spartan workout on the youtube. This will help you built your abs. You do not need to go to the GYM for having a workout. You can do this at home. Just check it out.:)
