My laptop has but one flaw: the cooling, I mean this can't be healthy for it. And I have a cooling fan under it. FAIL.

But one advice: Try to delete unnecessary softwares - remove widgets and etc. This will help you save energy, CPU and RAM power. I can't even imagine how many useless files and folders you got.

No wonder his CPU usage's maxed out at 100% — just taking a screenshot. Why do you need three mail clients, four chat programs and three browsers open simultaneously? With all those ugly widgets on top of it too. Is the "867" next to "RAM" in the system info box the amount of RAM you have?

It's a virtual PC. Kind of like an OS running on an OS, so you can use Windows-only programs on a Mac.

And is it secure so things in the Virtual Machine don't get onto your computer, and is good for running Windows apps on a Mac. You can do the exact same on a PC, like run XP/Linux at the same time.

The amount windows is limited depends on what I desire
I can have it set up so the files are shared (i don't rly)
program windows can integrate seamlessly if I want or i can have it all sealed and contained
Normally I have it contained incase a virus infects my win7 its severely contained
most windows viruses can't affect a mac but if i transfer files to a friends PC it could be very bad so I want my machine to remain clean, nooo herpes for me.

IMHO Mac is overrated and way too expensive for the average person. While Windows may have its flaws, it has improved massively in Win 7 and runs a lot better than Vista ever did (what a useless piece of shit that OS was...). Yeah so either the power button on my laptop is dead, or the motherboard is fried (preferably the power button), so I'm on an old laptop of my dad's that I put Ubuntu 10.04 on a while ago for teh lolz. Its funny. This has 1GB RAM and a dual core Intel T5600 @ 1.83 GHz, and boots up in under 40 seconds, and my laptop has 4GB RAM and a dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.1 Ghz, and boots up in about 2 mins 30 secs...

I find that my laptop has better cooling when I set my battery's power plan at balanced rather than high performance with the screen set to 100% brightness. What is your power plan and brightness level?

My mom took it to a local computer shop (without my knowledge...) and they said they have these type laptops, with the power button on the hinge of the screen, coming in all the time, and he expects it to be the power button that is the problem. They just wouldn't open it up until I gave them $70... so I'm gonna wait til I get some more moo-la.

And I had the performance and brightness set up all the way.... which probably didn't help. I did have it set to the lowest level for everything when running on battery, however, I hardly ever use it on battery :P

And yeah... lightning looks cool :D

This is my desktop at school. The IT lady there has gone absolutely insane with blockers; nearly everything online is blocked (the word "car", bbc.co.uk was for a while, the word "helicopter") she has Windows7 restricted to the classic theme on all of the student's profiles, can't change the desktop background (unless you use their special edition of Firefox), and I can't delete any of the desktop icons I don't use. And she has virtually every proxy blocked, and if it is found out that you got around something, you are suspended from computer usage for a certain amount of time.
And most of the computers are custom built with Core i3's,4GB RAM, and have ATI Radeon HD4350 graphics cards. What a waste of computers.

/rant.
