What are your parents rules on these things? For me I can watch what I want and play what I want since I was 9 or 10 maybe 8.

I've been able to go to R rated movies since I was like 10. I've listened to explicit music, but I mostly kept that hidden. Not that my mom would have cared about the lyric content, she just hates rock music. Mature video games have never been a problem. I'm over 18 now, so I can buy whatever game or movies I want to.

I don't really have intersted in either, but i don't think either would be a problem.
the only thing with the R films is the "i'm clearly 14 and can't get in there without an adult" thing -- there's no way they'd go with me.
with the games, i has access, its not like it really matters.

People over exaggerate when it comes to M rated games, I mean seriously its not like they dont hear the swear words they say on them everyday at school, well at least I do. And the violence isnt that bad, I mean who cares if someone gets an arm blown off, its realistic, but maybe over exaggerated to some extent. Ive been to play M games since I was like 12 and since I was a little kid I wanted to play M-games because they're more fun. R-rated movies aren't that bad most of the time, its just the "langauge" they use, if they say fuck twice its R, so I dont think they're bad, unless its like overkill and people die left and right, then yes maybe its a little bad.

I've been watching R-rated movies and playing M-rated games since I was like 7 or 8. Who cares? At that age I was already well aware of the reality or what was depicted in the movies (which is to say unreality...), and I think that's true for a lot of kids. There is nothing I hate more than society saying "well, because of your age you must be too young to understand what's depicted here, therefore we won't allow you to watch it".

The thing flippin sucks is that I bought Halo 3 from a game store at a mall wihout a parent then I go to walmart and try and buy COD5 and the old guy at the checkout says "you're pretty short to be a mature person" Then I'm like stfu and I gave the money to the women behind me and she bought it for me =]

My parents never cared what I watched.
They know I was ore responsible than to repeat what was going on in the movie.

Yeah I remember I was buying a game once (I think cod4) and I said stefan (he my brother he 188) and the guy said I can't sell this to you why he said because I heard you. When I am thinking what the hell this guy cares why?
And I am shocked it was 91%. So many parents these days have gotten there pantys in a wad about games. There is one thing if I was a parent GTA would be OFF LIMITS and if they where waring thee pants down low I would send them to there room for a long time 4 hours along those lines and any tv's in there room I would take out then I would give them a long speach about why that is NOT COOL AT ALL and when I say long I mean castro long.

I work part time in a video shop and with the exception of the over 18's here I would refuse you all point blank with any DVD or game that is classed as for 18's.
There are reasons for classifications and there are reasons you get refused. In Ireland if I sell an 18's film to someone under 18, I can get fined €2000. People in shops dont refuse for the fun of it, they refuse because either it is company policy or it is just against the law.
You just gotta suck it up till you reach the big 18.

The only thing they ever tried to ban me from was an Evanescence CD when I was depressed which PISSED me off even more and although i didn't have the CD i had the songs off limewire and renamed them so you wouldn't be able to find them within an hr

My parents didn't care about me watching the scary movies in the higher ratings because they knew I loved that stuff. I didn't really want to watch the other things rated R though. My parents were strict about my gaming though I had GTAVC when it first came out and they took it away for about 6 or 7 months.

My dad won't buy me them unless I can justify the content (e.g. the Tony Hawk games rated 15+/16+).
But recently i've bought some 15 and 16 games off a friend and he knows about them and hasn't taken them away.
I think if they were 18's they'd be gone..
He cares more about games than movies, he just sat down while he was watching SAW 2 one day and I came in and not a word was said..

I ask for a game and my parents buy it for me. My mom heard one of the video games one day (R6V2) and she was like what is this so i told her and she doesnt care anymore.
