I'm not sure about the pooping, but right before ejaculation, the testicles do move closer to the body, so the semen has less distance to travel, and the muscle contractions that force the semen out of the body result in greater velocity.

Remember, the point of ejaculation is to propel the sperm into the vagina, so velocity (force) is important, the faster and further semen travels, the better the chance for fertilization. So, the testicles move closer to the body and the little coiled tubes that carry the ejaculate from the body do get 'shorter' (coiled), maximizing velocity. It has nothing to do with 'protection' during vigorous movement.
