I will be in High School next year and I was wondering whether you have to take showers in High School after gym or is it just after a sport?

Depends on your high school. You don't shower after gym in my school, but others you may.

they arent gonna force you to shower its your choice but u can in some schools depending on where ur from

They cant force people to take off their clothes if they arent comfortable or have a condition(when changing for gym, kids can go to the bathroom). I can see it voluntary but not something that if u dont do it, u will get sent to the princapal office. So they cant FORCE u to do it.

Im in a school of roughly 1000 kids and we had to shower after gym class (Or had the option too). Everyone did because if you didnt, you would usually get made fun of or something along those lines.

In my school, we don't have to after class. However, after an organised sport, I'm not sure. It all really depends on the school and what they want. If you're scared of smelling bad, just bring deodorant and you'll be set.

A lot of school have taken away that "luxury" Duh to what they are needed to teach, the time frame they have to do it, and the fact that hot showers feel reaaaally good.

you don't have to at my school... but it is frowned upon if you don't... I don't this year because I have last hour gym so no big deal... but last year I had frist hour gym so I showered everyday... and after organized sports you do not have to shower...

I'm having the same problem Jasper is having. I was reading the replies and I saw that in some schools kids are mad fum of because they do shower, but others are made fun of because they don't shower, so you should probably just see what everyone else does. I remember in my first year of middle school, everyone was nervous to change in front of everyone, all you saw was underwear but still, so then everyone tried to change in the stall, but there was only one. After the first day, no one cared and it was totally normal so hopefully showering will be the same.

it's optional at my school...some people do it some people don't. no one really cares either way. at middle school it was mandatory and everyone just did it becuase they thought their grade was going to get dropped...of course it's illegal for them to lower grades for that but everyone still bought it.

Well it's all up to you. I'm in grade 10 and the only time I shower is when I sweat lots. Other than that just take cologne or deodorant so you don't smell bad. It's all up to you if you don't feel comfortable don't take showers. They can't force you to.

Yeah, you don't have to take a shower. In some schools (like mine), the showers are not even used and noone goes near them. others some kids do take showers, but yeah we don't. Even if they did, it's your decision if you want to and no one can force you to. If your uncomfortable, then don't take one. If you want to take one but are afraid, just don't even bother thinking about it. Don't bother thinking about thinking what might happen. It just makes things alot worse. Focus on yourself.
