Recently, I saw an ad from Best Buy in today's newspaper. It's a 160 dollars in savings and has one year of Spyware and Antivirus. I told my mom that that was what I wanted for my birthday.
Here's the link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9192857&type=product&id=1218053146250
My only problem with this, is that it has Vista :yuck: Is there anyway I can uninstall Vista and install Windows XP on the computer? Will there be any major problems?

Vista is OK...I guess. I mean I was using XP like 2 months ago. Now I am on vista and the worse complaint I had were the sounds :P
Since Microsoft no longer manufactures XP then you probably need to go to some download site, put it on a disc and install it from there?

I can't blame you for wanting to downgrade. I used vista for 20 minutes and was cursing like a sailor at the screen by the end of it. (I cant stand it)
You can usually just ask the store to downgrade it for you. I got a laptop 3 weeks ago that came with vista, I asked the dude if it also came with XP and he just told me to leave it there for another day and he would downgrade it. At the end he gave me the XP and Vista install Disks for free and sent me on my way. Although I didn't buy it at Best Buy, and I've never gone there so I don't how their customer service is.

Thanks for the help. I just wish Microshit would just understand that not everyone likes Vista.

I suppose you didn't read my post as a WHOLE. I want to downgrade Vista to Windows XP and I've had my question answered.

I wouldn't get that computer for that price. It's something to start off with though.

If you have the XP disk, yes, it'll be very easy. Just format & install XP.
The only issues will be that XP doesn't have drivers for newer hardware.
Also, why don't you like Vista?
What's wrong with it? (I'm talking about stuff you've actually experienced, not stuff Vista-haters have put out there.)

I just couldn't navigate through Vista. My dad has a laptop with Vista on it and I tried it out. I can't find a damned thing with Vista! Besides, I've been using XP since it came out and it's easier.
