Animated objects?

As I use this site on my iPod touch I realize that as I enter threads with lots of post, smiles and animated object stop animating. I was wondering if it was because of my iPod touch's RAM which is 128 MB.

I am not familiar with the iPod touch so I really don't know why.

If the animated gifs don't animate, I would assume it's because the system the iPod uses is not good enough, it doesn't support animations, or it is too slow.
I can't say for sure though. The internet connection may also affect it- if its very slow it could be just using the first frame, or going at a very slow pace.

Whenever a mobile device like and Ipod touch or a psp or even a cell phone go onto a site with a lot of animated objects, or if it takes up a lot of memory they usually try to conserve the little memory they have by disabling the animated stuff.
