I started thinking of this two hours ago on my way home from night school. I haven't written poetry in years, so the quality isn't that good. However, I wanted to let people know what I hear in music and what I know it to be. This is what I've come up with.

Music, Defined

For wandering minds, what does music describe?
The rhythm of thought, the dance of vibe
The "rights" we embrace, the "wrongs" among us
The freedoms we're given, the shame of the unjust
The fancy of joy, the acceptance of plight
The chill of dark, the warmth of light
The will of the strong, the fight of the weak
The victory and success, the loss and defeat
The dreams of bliss, the nightmares of fear
The people we keep close, and those not so near
The love of all, the hate of the many
The good of the few, the bad of the plenty
The indecency we shun, the morals we hold on to
Our outlook on life, our reminiscent view
It describes our low, and our high
And tells a story, "The Reasons Why"

This is a side of you I have not yet seen Ben. And I like it. :D

This poem is actually very good. It has a nice, defined rhythym, and for the most part flows perfectly. There were a few points where the lack of rhyme stood out a bit sharply, but hey, sometimes that can't be helped. This is fantastic.

Thanks. I'm actually quite proud of this, now. It hasn't even been a few days since I wrote it and I'm already wondering how the heck I did so. :lol3:

Anyway, thanks again for the comments :)
