They use one main device...but they have another one.

The main device is just something that covers most of the head of the penis. Then they grasp it and in one shot, it takes the entire skin of the foreskin off...one painful clip.

There are several clamps that can be used the most popular in the USA is the gomco but they can do it freehand with just forcepts and a scalpal.

Infant circ is done with either a Gomco clamp or a PlastiBell. Same basic idea, a piece protects the head, then there's another part that snips the foreskin. With the Gomco, the clamp is left on for a couple of minutes to stop bleeding. With the PlastiBell, the 'bell' is left on for a few days for the same purpose. Same result, though.

If you're circumcised, you can tell which was used by following the ring around to the bottom/underside of the penis. if there's a little '^' ponting upwards, it was a PlastiBell, if then line goes around in a full, unbroken circle, it was a Gomco.

Circ in older kids is usually done 'freehand', with a surgical scissors.

In both cases, some sort of anesthetic is used to eliminate pain.

Your question worries me, you make it sound like someones planning to do this to you against your wishes. You haven't said where you're from, but here in the UK I don't believe this would be done to anyone unless either they were Jewish or they had a medical problem.

I don't understand the American fascination with cutting. Its just mutilation as far as I'm concerned for no purpose at all except perhaps its some useless attempt to stop you from wanking. I'm sure glad I'm english because I wouldn't want this to have been done to me.

I think it's important to like what you have, while also respecting the cultural traditions of others, even if you disagree with them. It's good that you're happy with what you have, but that doesn't really qualify you to judge what someone else might have.

Circ. became routine in the USA (after WWII) primarily in response to the many issues we often address here at VT, it was seen as preventative. The presence or absence of foreskin doesn't affect the ability or pleasure form masturbation.

It's just the American Tradition. It has been passed down for years. Usually, it is based off of if the father in the family was circumcised, if so...the son would be also (usually done 2-3 days after birth, but depends on parents).

I've been circumcised from birth, so I don't remember, but if I had ton get circumcised now, I'd be shitting myself.
