When I get really stressed I rub the sharp edge of a knife or scissors against my skin till it gives me a burn.
My mum saw the scab on my wrist and I told her. She said it was self harm but I dont think it is.
I'm not REALLY depressed, I just get frustrated sometimes.

someone help? I'm confused.

It IS a form of self-harm, since technically you ARE harming yourself. The thing about this is it could be a gateway for more serious and painful things in the future, so I think it would be in your best interests to refrain from doing this in the future. It may feel good, it may relieve stress, but it if you don't want to be open to more serious self harm it might be a good idea to stop.

I know now. I didn't think so before because I always thought it just applied to physically cutting yourself.
I want to. It's my only solution for relieving stress though but I'm trying.

If you're doing this when you're feeling frustrated, then yes. It is a form of self harm.

Many different emotions can trigger off self-harming. Whether it being guilt, depression, jealousy, lonliness, pride, boredom, aggression...etc.

What you're doing to yourself IS self-injury. You are harming yourself.

Whenever you're having problems, there is always someone to talk to on VT. There are many self-harmers on this site who totally understand you, including myself :]
