I have a few questions

I just started self-harming about a few weeks ago or so and my mom and sister found out. I have decided to stop cutting not only because they want me to but because I wanted to but I have a few questions.
First off i'm kind of worried about the people at school seeing my cuts. It's not really that I care what they think but i'm afraid they are going to tell the school administration and I will be taken away from my mom. Is it possible for them to take me away from my mom just because I self harm? Also is it illegal for me to self harm?
Second my cuts are not that deep but my mom still thinks they will scar. I have started using the Neosporn scar strips but is there anything else to prevent my cuts from scarring my arms permanently? Any advice you could give me would be great! :)

Best way to prevent all this is to not cut. Simple

Now, as for custody, the government can't take you away for your own actions. And your mom isn't at risk. At all.

As for the school, they can't do anything but tell your parents, which you say already are aware of it.

IF you want to hide it, hide it. Longsleeves, jeans, whatever.

As for preventing scarring, make sure all your cuts are cleaned properly and do what you're doing really.

The school ofifcials can talk with youi f they see the cuts, they can meet with you and your mom, but they cannot 'take you away', esp. without your mom's permission.

The cuts have less chance of scaring if they;re not so deep that they;d otherwise require stitches. Deep cuts that require stitches but don't get them are far more likely to scar, as the body produces scar tissue in response to deep injury. Maybe you should see a doctor if you're worried, but if you use neosporin and do NOT pick at them there's less chance of scaring.

Hopefully, you understand the stressors that led to your cutting, and therefore can address and control the feelings surrounding it. If not, do not hesitate to go to a therapist who can help you.

Thanks for all the advice :) I am definently not going to do it again. I know it was a stupid mistake and I know most of what caused me to cut in the first place but again thank you for everything :)
