View Full Version : MSN Messenger Installing

Recently, I've decided to try and get my Windows Live figured out. I tried to install a newer version, but I got a little message that said I had to uninstall the old one. I try to uninstall the old one, but it doesn't work, yet the program list says that I don't HAVE it installed.

So I've repeated this process over and over. Can anyone help me out here?

I have no desire to call some tech support from India. I'm not being mean at all, I just hate dealing with people who can't speak English for shit.

(Assuming you have a 32-bit OS and assuming you're using Windows as your OS)
Navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folder 'Windows Live'. Now go to Start>Run and type in 'regedit'. Navigate to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\ Select and delete the 'Windows Live' folder.
Try the install again.

If you do not have a 32-bit OS, but a 64-bit OS instead, do not do what I said above.

I see no Windows Live folders at all. Any other recommendations?

Specifically, do you have MSN or Windows Live Messenger installed?

I was having MSN problems this fall then I deleted everything and uninstalled it and now it works fine.
