It's a drug to help widespread acne. I was wondering if anyone's used it before and what kind of side effects they got. I'm still wondering if I want to take it or what, so yeah. thanks

im on acutane right now.
it sucks pretty bad, your face gets super dry as well as your lips and inside of your nose and your eyes. my nose has started bleeding profusely at random times. my lips hurt bad, and you have to carry lip balm around all the time.
but as far as acne goes, stuff works miracles. Ive tried every other prescription alternative; Doryx, Solodyn, Differin, Retin-A, etc. and none worked. Acutane is working well though.

I was on Accutane.
Main side effect is that you're dry everywhere. I was unlucky in that I got a very rare side effect : my night vision is decreased - permanently. Before taking it I used to see better in the dark.
It was not a very hard medicine to be on. Sufficient hydratation (I gulped down around 8 bottles of water per day) helped with the dryness, especially in the mouth.

oh, I hope that doesn't happen to me. I love the dark and I can see very well in it, I wouldn't want to be blind like everyone else. :/ I guess I can drink a lot. how do you manage that in school? I don't think I can bring in more than a few bottles before people are like wtf? lol

I was on it last year. Yeah, the stuff works miracles. Haven't had a breakout since I took it. The stuff WILL dry you out, severely, you WILL NEED some sort of powerful moisturizer for your lips especially (And I'm not talking about chap-stik). Depending on where you are in the world, I'd look for something called 'Aquaphor', worked wonders for my dry lips (You can find it at Wal-Greens).

Thanks, I'm very grateful for the advice on how to fight the side effects like the dry lips. I'll look for aquaphor. Thanks again for everyone's input. I'm going in for blood testing soon so I can start it.

Well, I used to bring 3 bottles of water with me in my bedroom after school (playing games + water = win), 3 more after dinner and 2 after my shower.
I do drink a lot of liquid so this wasn't particularly hard to do.
