Well, yesterday I went and it was OK. I liked the therapist, he told me somethings I could do when I feel the urge to pull, such as excercising, or popping the rubber band I gotta wear now. I told him about little noises I've been hearing, the paranoia, and not being able to sleep. I know I should have told him about the ctting and depression idk why, it's like to private. I feel much better now, though it feels like I'm still waiting for the appointment idk why. But, there's a brief summary of what happened.

That's good that you like your therapist. He'll definitely help you with any problems you have.

Good luck. :)

Good for you for going, that's a great step! Good therapy is like oxygen. It really makes a huge difference and it can make a real difference in the way you feel. Stick with it and give it time.

Therapy is a very personal treatment that requires your participation in order for it to work. So, like anything that takes involvement, it can take time to gear up for it and get used to the whole interactive process. It's to be expected that you don't spill your guts or bare your soul on the first or second visit, you need to build up to it. Just get comfortabke with the whole nature of it and your therapist. As long as you're not actively cutting, you can talk about whatever feels right, and whatever areas you want to address, esp. in the beginning, when it's all really new and you're still getting used to the whole thing.

Therapy works even when you're not always talking about THE issues, it's being there with another person that is curative, too.
