Hey, i am wondering, what is a bruise and why are some differnt colours at differnt parts of ur body and over time?
i mean, you can get a red / purple / yellowy one on ur belly or side by just a simple bump, so why isnt legs and arms the same?
and why is it if you bump ur head, get a bruise and lead forward it hurts?

A bruise is basically what happens when you injure yourself and your capillaries (which store blood) burst and leak into your surrounding (skin) cells.

A bruise results from physical trauma.
Remember, your body is made up of cells. When there's some blunt force to them, they rupture (burst). When that happens, they bleed, the contents sorta spill out in there under the skin's surface. That's what causes the black and blue mark, it's the blood under there. Likewise, bumps are the result of swelling, a common result of many cells getting ruptured, and the fluid leaking out and collecting under the surface.
As the body heals it reabsorbs the blood and other cellular fluids, so the bruise changes color (typically, from black and blue to green to yellow). A bruise hurts (like when you extend something) b/c there's actual tissue damage, the pain is the body's way of signalling that something is injured and not working correctly.
The body is self repairing for most things, it can sense when there's been an injury and immediately starts to repair it. When the pain and dicoloration are gone, it means the body has completely repaired itself. Presto!
