There is a girl who I have known for a couple of years now and we can talk about anything together. I really like her. Will it screw up our relationship if I ask her on a date...btw I am 16

well that depends. do you think she likes you back in that way? if she does then you have a better chance of your relationship growing, but otherwise you have to weigh up the risk. is it worth the risk to possibly lose this really good friend by asking her out, or are you 2 better staying close and enjoying the friendship you have now. there is no easy answer for this. you just need to think carefully about it and be sure that when you make a decision, that its the right one and your prepared for the consequences if its the wrong one.

No just because you go on a date doesn't mean any has to change between the two of you. If you start dating things could change though.
