Okay, I'm 14 and i have had a small painless lump on my left testicle since i was like 11 and i don't think its cancer cause i didn't think it could happen that early. and i thought that if it was cancer it would be painful if touched but its not so any suggestions?

If you have gone to the doctor in the past 3 years they would have felt your testicles.
If they say its good, then its fine.
But just in case they missed it, mention it next time.
But I doubt it's dire if it's been sitting there for 3 years.

it could be serious, if its some sort of tumor it could be cancerous and there is really no way of knowing without a doctor until the cancer gets out of the tumor and then it is too late...i don't want to scare you or anything but the previous posts kinds fluff it off and i want you to know it could be serious even though it has been there for so long. Its better to see a doctor and find out its no biggie then to find out it is a biggie when its too late.

Oh my goodness...it isn't cancer...lol.
Testicular cancer is cancer of the testicles, not the sack...you wouldn't see the cancer...
Also, cancer can show up at any age...but this isn't it.
It is probably hair follicles. They kinda puff up weird...i have em. Just relax, as puberty happens...it will leave.

he says its on his testicle not his scrotum therefore it could be serious. you should read what the op says carefully before you answer trythis5. anyways seeing a doctor cant hurt anything, i know it might seem embarrassing to you but its there job so you have no reason to be embarrassed.

yes, i did clearly read.
Usually, when someone refers to testicle (an uneducated person on the topic) they would say testicle...but if they meant scrotum...they would most likely still say testicle.
Also, visiting a doctor wouldn't hurt...like u said.

Lance, hes had it for 3 years.
If he has gone to the doctor at all since he was 11, they would know if it was serious.
He would have cancerous symptoms if it were cancer, and he would have much pain if it was anything else serious. On top of that, it is hard (in my opinion) to differentiate the shape of a testicle and a lump, without medical training. He could just be feeling the shape of the testicle rather than a lump; they aren't perfectly round, and there is other stuff in there too.

If you do decide to go to the doctor for a full physical, they should teach you how to do a self testicle exam...so in the future, you can tell urself if there is anything wrong.

things can lay dormant for 3 years and it **COULD!!!!** be serious, I'm not saying it is but better safe then sorry!!! and you don't know when he has last been to the doctor, i haven't been to the doctor since i was 11 and that is more than 3 years, not everyone sees the doctor on a regular basis. ALSO doctors aren't perfect and don't you think its possible they missed it? they cant miss it if he tells them its there and wants them to check it out! Doctors recommend you feel for lumps and things because people CAN tell when things change about there body and he should at least get it checked out!

Do you know the youngest person to get testicular cancer or anything similar? It's related to prostate cancer and usually starts as prostate cancer...how old are you when you can get that? 50! Yes, odd things happen and things aren't always on the lines of scientific.

actually testicular cancer is not uncommon during puberty and right after. you don't know what you are talking about dude, prostate cancer is totally different. and it could be something different i am not saying it is cancer i am saying there could be something wrong, if nothing could be wrong then why have a doctor examine your testicles at that age? because things can go wrong.

it could be a NON-cancerous tumor... like a fatty tumor (there is such as that)

that is the reason he should see a doctor, because while it may be nothing like what drew31793 said, it could be something, its best to let a doctor decide that :)

No i just don't like it when people argue with me about something when they do not know what they are talking about, i didn't mean to offend you. I think that the only one qualified to diagnose it as nothing is a doctor, that is all i am advocating for, a trip to the doctors office so that he can decide if something is wrong or not.

I agree with Lance. He should go to the doctor for a physical. Testicular cancer isn't as noticeable as everyone here seems to think. There was a guy at my school a few years older than me that had it for years without knowing he did. I'm not saying you have cancer, hell, it could just be your epididymis, but it is better to go to a doctor and find out. He'll probably show you how to give yourself a testicular self-exam, so you can check in the future. Every male should know how to do that.

theres no point arguing whether its cancer or not, the bottom line is that it should still be checked out.
