View Full Version : Video File Size and Audio Extracting?

So, I filmed my friend performing and one of the videos is 108 MB, the other is 155 MB.

Photobucket doesn't allow videos bigger than 100 MB and I was wondering if there was a way [free software or something online] that would make the file smaller without totally effin' with the quality.

I don't mind if the picture goes crappy - I didn't have the best seat and you can't really see her that well. I do want the audio quality to stay pretty much the same though.

And to add to that, is there a way I can extract the audio? Preferably to a MP3, M4A or MID file (anything that I can store on my phone).

Thank you in advance :)

Windows movie maker can do this. Import the video. You can then save the movie to whatever file size you want. Also you can remove the video and keep the audio if you switch to timeline view.

Andy. I love you, but love isn't enough - it didn't work :(

I've imported the videos on Windows Movie Maker. When I dragged one of them onto the timeline, the picture and audio are both on the Video line...

[-]And it doesn't give me a option on the size when I tried to publish it.[/-]

They're all AVI files, if that makes a difference to anyone.

Ah. Thank you J'.

One more problem - The VirtualDub I downloaded saves the audio as WAV. [dunno if that's the problem]

I'm gonna see if I can download another type that'll save as MP3... But, in the meantime:

My phone keeps giving the message "Cannot play this sound" and "Playback failed" ... When I open my Phone Card on my laptop, the file plays - So I'm prety sureit's not corrupted.
