LaLa, cutting isn't a good thing, you know. It's very dangerous and it doesn't solve anything, it actually creates whole new problems.

I know you're new in therapy, and you and your psychologist have really just begun. But, you're there to feel better and find other ways of dealing with, and expressing the pain that's causing you to cut. So, in a most unqualified way, I would strongly urge you to tell her about this!

As a trained professional, she'll work with you to come up with ways to deal less destructively with that urge. If she determines that in patient hospitalization is most appropriate, then you should support that. But give her the info she needs to help you address this and fix it.

Cutting, as I'm sure you know, is only a temporary fix. It does more damage than good. Since you are seeing a psychologist already, I think it would be best for you to tell her sooner rather than later. She is there to help you.

Don't worry too much about her committing you to a hospital ward. The standard way of helping a person who self harms is not to disrupt their lives by hospitalising them. She can only commit you if she believes you pose a serious danger to yourself or others.

Be kind to yourself and allow yourself the help you need to heal :hug3:

:D well thank you guys much for telling me to ge help.... obviously i did not enjoy my psychologist telling my mom, but in the end it all worked out. strangely enough though my psychaiatrist didn't tell me not to cut... he asked me if i had any "issues" that i wanted out... obviously i had no idea what the heck he was talking about, but he did mention that some kids refuse to be hospitilized and other things like that....

the problem definately won't be immediately fixed but hopeflly it will eventually
