If you want to get rid of her, why don't you try talking to her and telling her that you don't want her as a friend. Don't try to go around the issue. Just be honest about it

Be firm. I just had a problem similar. Clingyness. Just over aim, or the phone just say briefly: I think it is nice that you are being a good friend, but sometimes you can be overbearing... etc. Don't lose it, just be polite and brief. But be firm.

It worked like a charm when I did it today.

tell her gently, but make it clear that you are not interested. and that you would prefer she didn't call.

Imagine doing that yourself. Shutting a girl out, who's life practically depends on talking to this 'amazing' boy on that day.

Its going to be hard.

I've done it and yes it was kind of hard, but I had to reclaim my sanity back. I couldn't do that with her still in the picture. So she had to go. I was honest and just told her how I felt. She backed up and my problem was solved

Honestly, there are two ways to lose a friend:

Tell them you'd rather not be their friend anymore

Avoid them, and ignore their calls.

They are both harsh. In my opinion, the bottom actually is less harsh, because then your friend will kind of... Not want to be your friend as well. If you just tell them, theyw ill feel bad, and want to be your friend still.

I'm actually in the same situation that you are in right now.

With the help of someone, I had thankfully gotten him off my back.

Tell her "I really am not feeling the same way, and I think it is best that you stop calling me. Thanks" and then hang up the phone.

You don't have to completely leave her hanging. Just tell her you don't like her in a girlfriend sort of way, which is obviously what she's going for.

It's less harsh than telling her "Screw Off!" but it will still get her off your back, and possible make her leave completely without destroying her feelings.

Yeah i used to be in this situation and now i have a friend in this situation. She would be HEARTBROKEN if he said that stuff to her. I'd say start avoiding her and make excuses to get off the phone early (i'm gonna go eat something, my mom wants me to vacuum, etc.). Shattered said it right that they'll start to realize that you're avoiding them and not really want to be your friend anymore. So i'd suggest that you just avoid her at all costs.
