Birth Control Pill Question

Hi there.
My girlfriend is on the Birth control pill, and i have a question about the 7 day break.
U know how woman who are on the pill take a weeks break from the pill, allowing them to have their periods.
Well my girlfriend and i (2 months ago) had sex 3 days AFTER the 7 day break.
Would she have still been protected?

I am just curious as i have noticed she has put a little bit of weight on recently and had sore breasts & nipples for a few days.

She is on her 7 day break as of today.

well you should know as soon as she gets her period or if it does not come... when did she go on the pills. because if it was recently then maybe those effects are just coming in as birthcontrol causes that.

its been 28 days times 3 so basicly 3 months

Im not an expert on this subject but I think that if you don't take the pill on the day (or about so) then it may not work.
But that being said, don't worry to much- there could be other reasons for the sore breasts/gaining weight.
Just be careful next time.

Edit: Wait, so she hasn't had her period for 3 months? Has she taken any pregnancy tests?
First step would be taking pregnancy tests, then going to a doctor/and talking to parents if shes pregnant to consider options

She takes her pill EVERYDAY she is ment to.
After the 7 day break she took her pill when she was ment to.
We had sex 3 days after she took her 1st pill after her 7 day break

Yeah she finishes her last pill every third weds and gets her periods on the sat/sun
She has had her periods as usual the last three months.

May i also ask what the reasons may be for sore breasts & nipples as well as slight weight gain?

Ah, then Im fairly sure she has nothing to worry about ;)

But: If the period you had was a normal period for you - starting at the expected time and lasting the normal amount of days and of the normal volume for you, then it probably was an actual period and you have not yet conceived. However, if it was shorter in duration or lighter in volume than normal then it may have been implantation bleeding and not a period at all.

the sore nipples and breasts can be a result of pms or the period. Roughly a week before I get my period my nipples and breasts get really sore, it's a tell tale sign that something's gonna happen.

Alternatively the hormones in the pill can do funky things with you. Or it could just be stress. There are a thousand and one reasons why things get sore. Usually hormonal, but usually not indicative of anything.

gee, I missed this one.

The 'Pill' doesn't need to be taken during her period, hence the break.

When she's off the pill, she's on her period, so her puffiness, etc. are the result of that.

When her period ends, she goes back on the pill.

Heres something that might help,she's on her period which means she isnt pregnant. Oh and a word from the wise don't mention to her that she has put on a little weight. :P
