maybe if you think moving up a set will make your gardes worse you should tell the teacher that you feel out of your depth and youu were wroking more in the lower set. But remember that you have to keep moving up in life. Maybe they are trying to challange you to get better grades.

Well, Blandino, you have a choice: You wanna be a pilot (or anything else that requires acquired skill), you need some self discipline. Or, you can get used to saying, "Would you like an order of fries with that?". Heck, you don't even need to finish HS for that!
No pun intended, but there's no such thing as a free lunch. You want something, you gotta work for it, and for that, you have to buckle down and do the work. Show some self discipline. If you're in advanced classes, you have the ability, you would'lt be there if you didn't. Use that ability, get what you want. Adulthood comes pretty fast, and it lasts a loooong time. Might as well prepare for it, so you can at least be doing what it is you really want.

I disagree. I think that sometimes teachers misjudge ability. Try your BEST to do the work but dont stress if you can't. If you really are out of your depth that will make things worse. If you dont imporve by the middle of the term then ask if you can go back down. Theres no point being in a top set if you dont understand the work... youll get left behind.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need at least a high school diploma to work at a McDonalds?

I agree for the most part...
Except the placement.
If something is too hard for you, ask to be switched out.
Theres no point in being placed in something you dont understand that your getting bad grades in. Its bad for everyone.

You've been corrected :P
No qualifications required, don't even have to speak english( so annoying..)
Blandino, unless you WANT to be something don't aim for it because its easy, you'll end up hating it and wondering why you wasted two years of your life.
Like Sam said, if you want to be a pilot then you should try to be one, don't give up!

Thats really weird because in england you need a GCSE in English, C or above to work in Macdonalds.
Whilst I agree that you should aim high i think that you also need to be realistic. I think that you should aim for the grades you need to be a pilot, but if you dont quite get them then you should move on. There are plently of great, fulfilling jobs out there!

I think you're giving up way to easily. If I were you, I would most definitely get a tutor. Math can be hard only if you don't practice. Practice makes perfect; therefore, I believe you should give math 1000% percent. NEVER put your dreams aside only because you are not making the "grades".About your parents, I think all parents are like that. Man! I wish you could meet my mom! yikes!
