a week and 6 days, since my last cigarette. 'twas my new years resolution; quitting cigarettes that is. however, i've picked up 'dip', or 'chew', what ever you want to call it. the instant blast of nicotine in my mouth is such a great feeling. to be honest, the 'dip' has helped alot in this tretorous battle.
i can actually breath, and it feels good. my skin tone is also back, i don't look like a translucent zombie. before long i may pick up running again, with this extra lung capacity i've regained. i feel as if it's too late though. i feel like my lungs have died, and they won't regain strength.
my next objective is to quit this 'dip'. god, i love the taste though. anywho, i've come across a product that may help in the long run: http://www.mintsnuff.com/. sounds weird, yes, but its perfectly healthy. also gives you the euphoria of having that wad' of tobacco in your mouth.
anyway, does anyone have any other tips on quitting cigarettes and 'dip'? by no means am i going back to cigarettes. the struggle is hard though.

to be honest it really isn't hard at all. i don't see why everyone says it's so painful. it's all in your head. if you don't have the will power, you're unable to do anything. mind over matter.

Anything like that mint stuff really. My parents & Grandparents who all smoked said they used will power obviously and sweets!!
The simple but helpful way out of adiction. Just doing or eating something else when you have a craving helps.
It's good that you've gotton off smoking, but the reason why you say it was 'so easy' was that you haven't smoked that long, and your younger than an adult...so this helps apparently which I found suprising when I first heard it...but it does. :-)

aye, you're right. but, 3 years is a good minute of time, dedicated to a habit.

It is.....but some adults who have a real problem quitting have been doing it for years.
That is hard.

snuff is REALLY bad. For your gums, teeth, everything. I strongly recommend using patches, gum or inhalers instead.

Stop using anything with nicotine. As soon as you get headaches, just keep active. When the headache becomes too intense, sleep. Just sleep all day and all night. You can probably get out of school saying you're sick for a few days because you may get a fever and obvioiusly a horrible headache.
If you can, use sleeping pills to stay sleeping. Just make sure you eat every once in a while.
After three days the worst is over. This is the healthiest way possible.

It's not just headaches. Irritability, some people vomit. There are many symptoms to nicotine withdrawl.

i was a chain smoker (and i mean 10 cigs in less then two hours) for a while, not too long but still. i still smoke but i can go without for LONG (weeks, months) periods of time.
people said once i started i wouldn't be able to stop, but i can stop anything i start. Weed, cigs. To me is defently mind over matter, but you gotta truelly believe in it.
Chew gum to release the tension. Hit something (your pillow, punching bag, (careful not to damage your body hitting TOOO hard) helps lotssssss

Quiting cigaretes takes time. You can't do it immediately. To quit cigaretes is to slowly reduce the amount you smoke or chew. Good luck.
