Hi people,

I'm having problems with getting a job. I've found loads of them, but I actually need to GET one, I need to start earning my own keep. I've put in about 5 applications to 5 different businesses and not gotten a reply from any of them. I may go in and ask, but I'm going to need some tips for getting a job. If anyone could help me out, that would be great.

Just keep looking! Remember every business needs workers, so don't be stingy with which applications you fill out!

Also remember that money is a tough subject right now, everywhere really, so no matter where you live the amount of jobs (especially for 14 year olds [supposedly inexperienced]) will be slim.

So keep looking! :D

"Getting a job 101"

1) Dress nice.

2) Make eye contact

3) Answer all questions thoroughly

4) MAKE SURE TO TELL THE INTERVIEWER YOU WANT THE JOB A LOT!!!

5) Follow up letter, and phone call within 24 hrs.

People want to hire someone who is enthusiastic and appreciative and polite and personable. Make sure your behavior emphasizes these points!

2) Make eye contact
This is why I won't be getting a job unless pushed in by my org.

IAMSAM said it real nice. I'm adding something though.

6) Have a nice haircut, and keep it nice that day.

7) Remove and/or hide any tattoos or piercings.

Tonnes of my friends have jobs and they're all taller than me, none of them have had problems with getting their jobs, do you think this maybe height discrimination??? or is it just me??

Just dont loose your hopes. Have a good morale. I am adding some more .....

8)Be confident,. Or at least, act confident.

9)Dont get tensed up or frustrated when you haven't got a job, just deserve it well.

10)Just be yourself and be smart.
I think so that'll do. :)

They are not discriminating against you because you're short. As everyone else said be confident, be mature, and be smart.

You probably didn't have a good stature when you went to your interview. Either that or you probably got too many tickets. When you send in applications they check for that.

Maybe places aren't hiring. But yeah try to present yourself next time when you go to apply. Make sure you look and feel clean. Have already pre-planned answers to "Why do you want to work here", things like that.
