What is a Erection?

What is it i have heard it many times but i don't know what it is people will probably laugh at me for asking this question.

I have done some but we haven't got up to talking about that yet and i am 13 going on 14 on Sunday.

Ok an erection is when blood flows into pockets in the penis turning it from it's soft form into a much harder form. In this stage ejaculation is possible.

When referring to males, an erection is the hardening and enlarging of the penis, achieved by increased blood flow into the vessels of the penis. As the blood flows into the penis, it increases in size and stiffens, typically causing it to point straight out or up. Erections can be caused by several occurances including sexual arousal, friction or contact against genitals, or a filled bladder. Most males get erections several times while asleep and may have one when they wake up.
