Art or NOT?

Hey i was just wondering..does anyone think graffiti if art? people keep telling me it isn't .. :scratchchin:

Yes, I think it is.

It's a visual expression of emotion.
It's an art form, like poetry is a form of art.
Music is a form of art.

Art is not just drawing.

Art is more or less emotional expression through visual or verbal mediums, and at some times sensual.

ya i know what u mean, i feel the same way. the only prob. is no 1 im my school likes art! it sucks!

Wow, I'd hate to be there.
Alot of people at my school are into arts.

In written arts, we've has people place 6th in the nation.
Musical arts: Band was 4 time state champions and we had a student go to American Idol and perform on national TV for x amount of weeks.
In Visual arts, not alot of achievements but ALOT of gifted students.

thats really cool, im only in 8th grade maybe some of the kids will grow up (they act like really stupid) and learn to be good at art

Yes!!!

Graffiti is a form of art. I have seen lots of graffiti that is very nicely done. I agree that it sucks that people at your school don't like art.

I think graffiti is really cool :D
Even on walls and stuff, even though its illegal. [Thus you shouldn't do it :P]
It looks awesome, and is definitely art as long as its on paper not on the walls.

I love graffiti, manly because it is challenging and the complexity blows me away.

Gang taggs is not art, but it can be art....take British artist Banksy for example, his stuff is funny, looks amazing and has a message as well. And some of his work is around where I live. :-)

yes it looks cool but dont like it on places where it shouldn't be and you dont really want it.

Graffiti is definitly an art! Some people just don't like art. Some people are just jealous of it (that's me). And some may genuinely think it isn't art.

Don't worry about what they think so much. Could you show us something you did?
