JACKSON, Ohio – Police say an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy grabbed a gun from a closet and shot his baby sitter.
Eighteen-year-old Nathan Beavers was hospitalized Sunday with minor wounds to his arm and side after the shotgun attack. Police say another teen was also injured.
Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children.
Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen says authorities are investigating. The child has not been charged.

Meh, who knows, I blame the father for having the gun out where his FOUR YEAR OLD son could reach it, and for obviously intentionally letting his son know WHERE the gun is. I also blame him for probably exposing his son to guns (i.e., showing his son how to use the gun, which is the most logical explanation as to why he was able to use the shotgun) and teaching him how to use guns, but not explaining to him the consequences of using a gun on another person... Plus teaching a four year old how to use a gun is just freaking stupid... And you have to realize all of this is coming from a gun fanatic (*cough* me *cough*).,,

That's why you lock your guns. Or atleast hide them better. Completely and 100% the parents fault.

Lock the guns up...or here's a radical idea....
Get rid off them??

Or is that concept to hard for the government?
Such a sad but also, which is sad, common.

If people were to get rid of guns tell me how you could protect yourself from a robber lunging towards you with a knife and you have no protection and no phone near you.

Guns, like anything else that can inflict harm, aren't unnecessary, people just need to be taught that they're not play things and that they're not things you use to harm other people when you get angry. Young kids who are exposed to guns NEED to be taught gun safety, and anyone under like sixteen/seventeen should not have access to a gun in their house. In most cases they're for protection, in some other cases they're for leisure/sport (hunting), and in rarer cases they're for killing other people (war). You have to also keep in mind that if you eliminate guns, war would be a lot gorier and much, much worse than it currently is.

But yeah, lets not get too off topic...

Things like this would happen regardless with or without guns, things would just be more brutal...

His parents are to blame. They obviously never thought that a FOUR YEAR OLD would get a shotgun and shoot the baby sitter. I blame the parents 100%.

They should have known better.

Exactly someone is probably making him take the blame

What?

I agree with Jack here.

How do you make a 4 years take the blame. The only way for this to happen is to totally traumatize the boy. Some kids are just curious and play with guns and if they have been around guns it is possible that they may know how to use it.

I don't think a four year could load teh gun though so that means some irresponsible person left the gun loaded. That is the real tragedy here. The 4 year old may be young enough not to remember this and lets hope so.

Only morons blame violence on video games, also I doubt a 4 yr old could shoot a shotty

That stuff about video games is bull. Even if a four year old had access and played those games, how would he know how to fire the shotgun? Seriously, they don't have the mental capacity. How did he even pick the thing up? They're freaking heavy dude! Aiming had to be horrible, shown obviously because close-range shotgun wounds are never minor. He pretty much missed.

Stupid parents. Why did they put it so easily accessible, and loaded?!

Edit:
Now that I think about it, a bunch of teenagers could have tricked him. No idea how, but people are crafty!

I'm very frazzled about how a 4yr old could shoot a shotgun? I guess the only explination is that the dad taught him, or was very open about loading/using the gun around the child.

I do think that a bunch of teenagers were prob not the best choice to babysit kids in a trailer park.....just sayin. Kinda asking for something bad to happen.
