Do you mean you had an operation where they only cut some of your foreskin but not the whole thing or was the whole foreskin cut off? Does it cover any part of the head? The head turning red was probably from the friction from your hand or you might have been to rough while masturbating.

Usually you should be able to depending one what you wear as underwear lol. Like it would be a lot easier to put it to the side if you were wearing boxer briefs or briefs compared to boxers because theres no resistance against your penis just sticking out there other than your pants.
