Well of course you can meet people, but remember its the internet, and anyone on here could be lying about who they are.
Meeting people in real life you meet on the internet is dangerous.
And to become a moderator you are either asked privately [most common] or there is a notice VT Volunteer Jobs Openings (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34) <- here [less common]

Plus, if you ask to become a staff member, you'll never be one.
According to their rules. :-)

Well not necessarily.
It doesn't really help or reduce your chances, although it is frowned upon to ask
You do not ask for positions. If VT needs a position to be filled, a notice may be posted. Again, please do not ask for a position.

Yes, and as you've only been a member for 4 days. I highly doubt that you will get picked, they choose the staff members very carefully...or I imagine they do. :-)

I receive about 2 emails a day. Often people asking for my msn address. Most of the time I decline (Unless there is some special reason) there are pedophiles on this site and I know I have received emails from them. Somehow I can spot them out from the rest. But that's not the point. The point is the Internet is a brilliant place to learn, have fun, chill etc. But just a few sickos will take advantage of this. Be very careful when giving out information about were you live etc. sorting out the people you want to meat from the people you dont is very easy. Check there post count and registered date. If they have been registered a few months with no post count then obviously it wouldn't be hard to guess that something isn't right there. Another good way to show that someone isn't who they claim to be is a webcam or microphone. Get them to show themselves live or send a live voice clip over to understand who they really are. As for moderator. I believe you have to be a frequent member. Be helpful always. Must be an available space etc.

Also, this is taken from the knowledge of the people who are mods..you have to be generally a great poster and a great person.
End of story really.

Yep... No matter how you ask it will be frowned upon.

The only time you can ask to be a moderator is when we ask for applications. Otherwise there isn't a need or point to ask to be a moderator because if we're not asking for applications, then there aren't any vacant positions.
Virtual Teen can be a site to meet new people via the message boards. Some members may disclose their email or IM details on their profile so you can get to know them outside VT. Doing that is completely up to you. As for meeting in person, this website isn't designed for that and I strongly recommend you do not meet someone from here in person.

This is not dating or hook up site. It is a help site for teens. Granted sometimes you make friendships on this site but that is not the primary purpose. It is for teens to get help on teen issues from teens. So...thats my explanation on that.
As far as moderation. Be good, be active, be helpful, be mature, and maybe one day you will be selected. But usually the Senior Staff would post openings in the openings forum and you submit applications or they can approach you secretly to see if you would like to be part of the team.
