Tell us more about what is happening... and which distro.

or you can put up a smoothwall

Why would you even need a firewall for linux? :? Not many hackers/viruses go after it...

Firdt I don't no what is happinging, i beleive you need to type in 'apt-install-clamv' to install it yet it is not working

linux is easy to hack

Exactly, but then who would want to? After all, it is Linux... :P

linux is easy to hack

ya right

then why is the most secure firewall a system running linux?

Kiros

It's still open source, and bugs can still be found in it. Get over it. :P

Skhorpion

smoothwall isnt open source and therefore is 45468468198 times more secure than windoze www.smoothwall.org]Linux Smoothwall Project[/url]

Kiros

Hmmm... So, since Windows isn't open source, it's 45468468198 times more secure than linsux, and since I'm using Norton Internet Security, which is closed source, that makes my Windows 45468468198 more than your linsux with smoothwall :) Right?

no

get by my smoothwall, i dare ya

know what? just get access to one of my shared network drives and leave a message on it

get any kind of access to any of my network and i will bow to the windoze

il PM you with the ip

Hmm, seems I can't get a ping on you. Your computer is either off, not connected to the internet, or you have unused ports stealthed. Eh, but I can't really count on command prompt to do my dirty work. I'll try it with something else to see.

Sigh...thanks for your help?

btw, how do you get a pic as you sig, i have been trying but it is not working :$

Skhorpion
December 14th, 2005, 05:22 PM
dont double post just edit the first post

to get a pic in your sig you must have the pic on the net and have the address to it

then you place it inside the img tags

here is what it should look like

YOU GAVE ME THE WRONG IP! >.<

Eh... No harm done, right? :) Anyway, it seems that you have several ports opened, and that was just a quick scan of about 10 ports (4 which are wide open). Anywho, I'll see if I can do a long term scan to find more ports and then try to intrude through a few of them.

*sets smoothwall to reject packets from IP* lol jk i do have a webserver and such running

jeez good job being secret about it

LOL Oh no, I wasn't trying to be secretive at all. I'd do a sync stealth scan then (going for raw I/O) but I don't have time for that lol. BTW, it seems you're running Shareaza, or at least some other Gnutella network P2P program. Am I right, or do you just have that port open for nothing? :)

Skhorpion

*closes limewire* heh didnt know that was running

anyway hows it looking?

Kiros
December 14th, 2005, 07:23 PM
eh, I shut down the scan. Got bored with it. Working on revising a moderator's guide atm. :)

Skhorpion
December 14th, 2005, 07:24 PM
so you admit to failing?

this proves that linux has better security

linux > kiros :P

Kiros
December 14th, 2005, 07:29 PM
Oh? Why don't you try hacking windows. :) Linux is much easier than windows, as already seen by how many ports are left wide open. So now it looks like this:

Windows > Kiros > Linux > Kid

Yeah, that looks about right :P

GO LINUX!!

btw I installed it *shuts computer down* i tihnk i will stick with my windows computer for now tho ;)

pfft ya right once you reach windows half-life it dies

ive never seen linux die of old age

linux > kid > kiros > windoze

seeing as i run linux and you failed to get by it

I didn't fail to get by it, I actually penetrated it. :D So now, are you going to try to even port scan me? Can linux even do that?

And what happened to your server? Did you block my IP or did you just shut it down? Ph33r m3h. lol

Skhorpion
December 14th, 2005, 07:39 PM
ha ignorance

http://www.insecure.org/nmap/

webserver is up and should work

http://noobhaxxors.servebeer.com

how do i know you penetrated it? i said leave a message on my shared network drives

Kiros
December 14th, 2005, 08:09 PM
Ha, the ignorance. You couldn't get one port on me, yet I got about 10 on you. Now if I wanted to waste a good 1-2 hours of my life on sending a file, then I would leave a nice signature on you computer, but why bother doing that, when it's easy to see Windows already pwns Linux. :)

Skhorpion
December 14th, 2005, 08:20 PM
apparently my smoothwall pwned you as i dont have 10 ports open

i only have two and thats for my FTP server and my webserver

Kiros
December 14th, 2005, 09:17 PM
That's not what my port scanner showed me. And apparently, my Norton pwns your smoothwall because you couldn't get even 1 port on me

Anyway, this has gotten way off topic. I'm pretty sure that the issue has been resolved too. So I'll lock it to prevent further spam :)
