i was watching a tv programme some nights before and there was a saying on it which i didnt understand,
a man sleeps naked, but a dog sleeps with his clothes on.
does anybody know what that means and can explain that to me

What? This has to be the wierdest question I've ever answered!!
Huh..can't believe Im' saying this but man, (as in general man) sleeps naked, which is traditional to do so.
And dogs have fur, which in this case is representing fur as clothes...it's a silly saying.

It depends in what context it was said really.. was it serious or as a joke? Was it a factual show, a comedy show? All these things can change what a phrase means.
