for the last couple of weeks i've had this round red mark on the inside of my left arm. its about the size of my thumb nail and the skin within it is, i guess scaley. it looks like its peeling. anyways, i've been waiting for it to go away and 2 weeks later its still there. any ideas of what it could be?

Does it itch or burn ever? like any actual discomfort from it? is it like, close to the inside of your elbow or on your forearm?

Could it be some form of eczema??
I've got some too, it's normally quite dry and can be itchy.
Does that sound like you?

Eczema is normally only itchy when you rub it..if that makes sense.
But if it's not then maybe it's just some sort of rash?

If it's dry and scaly, I agree with Requin that it could be eczema. Around the inside of the elbow is a pretty common spot for that. I get a similar thing on my hands and feet from time to time, almost always in the same spots. Happens most often when it's cold and dry, for me. Cold, I guess may decrease blood flow a bit and annoy the skin, and dry skin kinda goes with eczema anyways. The patch of skin sometimes has tiny little blister-looking things at first (but not always), and after those go away I'm left with a sort of scaly reddish patch. Within a week or so, it usually gets really dry and sorta starts to peel, but it's not like sunburn, it's strange. After it's peeled, it's gone, but inevitably comes back unless I do something to combat the dryness. This sounds like what you're describing, but eczema can look like anything from a persistently dry patch of skin, to rash. Basically, what I have is eczema that can typically be controlled by making sure I keep lotion on those chronically dry areas.

So, keep some lotion on it, to keep it from getting to dry and annoying and to help keep it from starting to itch. If it really won't go away, see a dermatologist. There are several creams they can prescribe to clear it right up.

Anyway, to the OP, I can't add anything else, other than if you come to suspect that it's eczema, you should see a doctor. I have it, and it can be a bitch. They can prescribe different types of medicine and creams for it, though.

Eczema, go get some hydrocortisone.

Or something called E45 cream. If you have it where you are?

This apparently, if you have delicate skin, helps it after you've gotten it wet etc.
And it'll help with the eczema.
