It sounds like you might have been loosely circumcised, but your circumcision sounds fine; I don't think you have any cause for concern, and the excess skin might actually work to your advantage when masturbating.

The method one uses to masturbate has no bearing upon penis shape or size, and your using your left hand really is not going to affect your penis in anyway.

In short, you are normal, and you have nothing about which to worry.

The answer to your q is that you were probably properly circumcised. The gizmos they use are pretty fool proof, and typically any anomaly (like yours) is usually the result of the way your foreskin was just naturally shaped or attached, rather than being 'malformed' from an improper circ. That does happen, but the results are diff than what you're describing.

As an FYI, the 2 gizmos are called 'Gomco' and 'Plasti Bell'. You can tell which one was used, Gomco leaves a line that goes around the penis in a circle, the Plasti Bell leaves a little "V" pointing towards the tip on the underside. Slightly different line, same result!
