I don't seem to eat much at all. It's been for a short time, but I've always eaten strangely. In the past I would eat just a little, and then a few times a week eat a ton. It was a bad habit.

Now i don't seem to eat much at all. Today I ate.. Two radishes, 2 slices of pre-sliced packaged ham, four shrimp, four small peices of zuccini (spell?), and some popcorn at a movie, maybe a cup. Found 2 lifesavers in my pocket.

The thing is, I'm not hungry. I don't feel like I need to eat, I don't feel deprived. I only ate because I was forced to. I tried eating popcorn because I knew it was lots of calories because it was loaded with butter, and I ate the lifesavers because I always need something in my mouth and had no gum. The pop tab got old.

Just wondering, is this a disorder? Or do I just not need much food? I used to eat much more than this. Today I ran over two miles and was excercising on and off for about 4 hours. But never got hungry.

It's not anorexia, I'm not fat. I'm not even 'big-boned'. I'm smaller than a lot of people. I'm in good shape. Why aren't I eating?

I had a friend who was similar to this... She went to see her doctor and apparently, her body was unable to produce hunger hormones or signals [not too sure]. Although there wasn't any obvious effect on her, they said it was very unhealthy and could result in a long time health problem, later in life. She was given some prescibed medication which produced the missing hormones or chemicals [still not too sure]. She had to take them regularly, about as often as she was expected to get hungry...

I've not had a catch up on that for a while, so I don't know if she's still on 'em, but that was about six months ago and I'm sure I've seen her snacking out of her own accord.

Her doctor did say that it was an eating disorder, because apparently, anything to do with unusual eating habits / patterns is classified as an eating disorder. For exampe, another friend of mine only eats certain types of food, mainly pasta and chocolate. She's petrified to try anything else and describes it as a phobia. Her parents would say that she was just extremely fussy, but the experts said that was a disorder too.

I'm thinking that you go to see your doctor, tell everything that you can and hopefully you'll get to the bottom of things. It could simply be that you don't need as much food, due to a smaller build. However, if it's wosre and nothing is done, you could experience major health problems in the future.

Good luck :)
