Pc. Macs fail in comparison all they are for is music. They lag like hell in games and firefox falls hard. Plus safari gets tanked everytime you dc.

I personally prefer PC.
Both have their own perks.

Not only music, and i seem to remember a time on windows XP when IE sucked.

It all depends really on what you need.
Macs:
Media
Presentations
Speed
PCs:
Gaming
More applications

Never said anything a bout IE being good. I use ff. Mac's actually lack speed and when they have it they lose it quickly.

I'm a ex PC user. Just a BTW tidbit of info.

If your looking for portability, I reccomend one of the new MacBooks or MacBook Pros. My sister just got one of the standard MacBooks, and its great, actually is almost as good as my 20" iMac.

If your not worried about portability, a iMac would work great, and with $2000, you can get the AppleCare protection plan, extending your warranty to 2 years, and you can get it pretty nicely upgraded to, like more RAM (up to 4GB) and a bigger hard drive.

Either way you go, I Highly recommend a Mac. (This coming from a person who used PC's for most of their life, until my dad bought my sister a MacBook for christmas 2 years ago.)

If you want to do only video/photo editing, and light web browsing, grab a mac, they're wonderful for that kinda shiz.

If you want the flexability to do almost anything with your computer, and possibly upgrade it along the road, buy a PC.

Get a PC. Real nice. Find one that's really expandable and doesn't cost $2000. Then upgrade it with the leftovers.

Then, add another hard drive and dual boot Leopard or whatever you want.

i like PC, but only with windows XP or older. Vista is a peice of crap.

and all my games for computer are PC only ones.

(and just to let you know, microsoft makes Operating systems for computers, not computers themselves. That would be HP or IBM.)

I would get a mac i bought one recently and its the best computer i have ever had. It is very fast and runs programs very well. You can do all sorts of designing on it and u have Microsoft office for mac. If you need programs that are windows only you can use bootcamp which lets you paritiion your hard drive and run Windows aswell. I bought the White MacBook and it was very easy to get started and used to. I have had no problems with it.

Buy a PC. Apple hardware is very expensive, you can buy a PC that's twice as powerful for the same money. You can also run Mac OS on a PC if you want.

It really depends what you are doing with it. Ziggy is right, they do cost more but they work a lot better and more efficiently. You pay the price because everything compatible with it just works. You plug it in, it works. No hassles. I have Vista, and I love it. I use it for gaming most of the time though. Not to mention windows computers have the ability to be upgraded in the future, and can be customized very easily. When people say Vista is a load of crap, it is because they never had it. I have had it for a full year, and I am never going back to XP.

BTW Ziggy, I wish I had your processor. I have the Q6600 at 2.4 GHZ. I have only one game that utilizes all four cores, what a waste...

Quad cores will become more useful in the future I'm sure :)
