Mail Issue

Aight,
so i gots my new comp. It is Vista (which isn't making me happy).

So if you know any solutions to help fix this issue, then please post because I am going bonkers.


So i am trying to set up Windows Mail, to consolidate my mail accounts instead of accessing it via the internet.

So I filled out the neccesary fields and stuff but when I go to sync them with the account is gives me this

(I attached it because i didnt feel like putting it online and stuff).

I think attempted to put in all types of combinations of passwords and sutff and then it didnt work. I got that after I canceled trying to insert and confirm the password.


Can someone help?

Looks like you need to enable POP access in your yahoo mail. Go to the webmail and looks for a setting to enable POP access.

Im not going to even use it anymore because it kinda took over the whole mail system instead of just being a...drone of sorts for it. It deleted a ton of messages from yahoo mail. I guess it moved them to Windows Mail. So I disabled it because thats not what I wanted to do. And plus I am not seeing where Yahoo mail has options for POP other than re routing emails to a different account

This is because the free version of Yahoo mail does not support POP access (Offline access). You must upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus to get POP access.

There is one workaround that is for Microsoft Office Outlook (Which I suspect will also work for Windows Mail) You can find the workaround here: http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips/qt/et_getyahoofree.htm

on my ipod touch everything works fine.
i think its just that i set it up wrong with IMAP and STMP and all that other S***

It looks like the iPod Touch uses another way other that POP to yank your E-Mail off the Yahoo servers. Probably the same method that YPOPs! uses.

Thunderbird also uses POP to access web mail servers. So it's STILL not fixing his problem.

Also, would you mind telling me how using Windows Mail is 'asking for fail'?
